Facilities

Archer’s Grove, built in 2006, is located on 10 acres adjacent to the Glen Walker Woods conservation area in Durham Region. We have access to thousands of acres of hacking trails accessible 12 months of the year.

Our paddocks are fenced with 3-board oak and all paddocks have automatic heated waters.

The indoor arena is 72 x 200, and is light and airy. And thanks to Leslie Tunnicliff, of That’s Great Entertainment — www.thatsgreat1.com — it has a fabulous sound system, ideal for those who like to ride to music.

The outdoor sand ring is 80 x 240 with a good base and graded to ensure excellent drainage.

The barn has 12 stalls, each 10 x 12. All stalls have soft stall matting, a window, and are bedded with shavings. All stalls have individually controlled water.

The wash stall has hot and cold running water, and both the wash stall and the grooming stall are matted with inter-locking rubber.

Horses have all day turnout in groups of 2-3.

We have a heated viewing room, with kitchen, laundry facilities, and washroom.

The tack room is heated, with sink and hooks for convenient tack cleaning. There is a locker for each boarder, and racks/hooks for saddles and bridles. There is lots of room in the hayloft for tack trunk and other storage.

The blanket room is heated so that it is easy to hang and dry blankets without cluttering the rest of the barn.

Training and Coaching

Our on-site trainer is Melanie Horton, specializing in Eventing and Dressage. She offers training for young horses, training for horses already going, and coaching for riders at all levels from beginner to advanced. She is an active competitor herself, and is currently showing her Irish Sport Horse gelding, Irish, at the Preliminary level on the Ontario Eventing circuit. She has competed to the One* level in Eventing, and Prix St. Georges in Dressage.

Board Rates

Monthly board is $675 plus HST. All customary services and attention to detail are included in this rate.
